PRESENTATION OF ‘ASUDEV ART SCHOLARSHIP 2024’
The ‘ASUDEV ART SCHOLARSHIP 2024’ was presented to Ms. JYOTISMRITI BORDOLOI, presently studying in the first year Master of Fine Arts (Painting) in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat.
Ms. Jyotismriti, is a domicile of Golaghat, Assam.
The ‘ASUDEV Art Scholarship’ carries a memento, a citation and one time financial grant of Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) from the personal contributions of ASUDEV’s family members and was presented today, the 13th December 2024, the 107th birth anniversary of ASUDEV in the premises of ASUDEV ART FOUNDATION at 45, Barthakur Mill Road, Ulubari Guwahati 781007 Assam.
The ASUDEV’s ART GALLERY (A Private Art Space) was also officially declared open today for public viewing. This private Art Gallery displays a well curated representation of pioneer Assam Artist ASUDEV’s artworks from 1930’s to 1983. Public viewing is available on Monday to Friday 1PM to 7PM on prior information through an SMS on 6901 260 823. The award function was also attended by several Artists, media person, students of AAFTAA, and people associated with the pioneer Assam Artist ASUDEV.
In the presentation program organized by the ASUDEV ART FOUNDATION, in its premises at 45, Barthakur Mill Road Ulubari Guwahati, today was attended by Shri Noni Borpuzari, Eminent Artist, Shri Udayan Biswas, Artist, Author & Senior Journalist. The meeting was presided by Shri Biren Singha, Eminent Sculptor and President, Gauhati Artists’ Guild. Shri Anutosh Deb, Managing Trustee ‘ASUDEV ART FOUNDATION’ presented a documentary on ASUDEV and spoke about the Scholarship and also highlighted about setting up of the ASUDEV’s ART GALLERY (A Private Art Space).
The ASUDEV ART FOUNDATION, is a Non-Profit Family Trust set up in 2016 in the memory of pioneer Assam Artist, ASUDEV by his family members, who initiated the ‘ASUDEV ART SCHOLARSHIP’ since the birth centenary year of ASUDEV on 13 December 2017 organising the ‘ASUDEV RESTROSPECTIVE ~IV’, by the Gauhati Artists’ Guild, Guwahati.
The ‘ASUDEV ART FOUNDATION’ invites online application every year on 15 August, from students’ domicile of Assam and are under the age of 28 years, pursuing Master of Fine Arts, at any Fine Arts Faculty outside the State of Assam, recognized by the University Grants Commission & the Government of India, admitted as a regular student. The scholarship is presented on 13 December ASUDEV’s birth anniversary. Announcements are made through press releases, social media and the official website, publishing frequently. The information is also shared through different artists WhatsApp groups. Information about the ‘ASUDEV Art Scholarship’ is shared through different websites promoting scholarships.
Two previous ‘ASUDEV ART SCHOLARSHIPS’ were awarded to:-
2017’: Shri Seemanta Bhagawati, MFA (Graphics) Visva Bharati Santiniketan, a domicile of Mangaldoi, Assam.
2018’: Ms. Debangona Paul, MFA (Graphics) Visva Bharati Santiniketan, a domicile of Silchar Assam.
